The System and Personality. Their Struggle and Alliance within the Social Progress

The article is devoted to the problem of interaction between the person and the system as a part of social progress. A theoretical study of the concepts “system” and “social progress” is presented; the author proposed the definitions of these terms. The consistency of contact (in the form of a struggle or an alliance) between the personality and the system within the social progress is stressed. It is revealed that depending on the characteristics of personality, it can either become the continuation of the system structure or transform it. Successful attempts change the system; a failure leads to rejection of both innovations and the personality. It is stated that the system should serve the needs of the people, not vice versa, so the right to reject belongs to them. It is concluded that the system and the personality have a complex impact on the development of the universal civilization. The system is the basis and the personality is an impetus for transformations which can be taken or rejected by the system.
